Martinez Crit and Redlands Crit
On Friday morning
Jeremiah,
Justin,
Peter and I set off to drive 500 miles north to Martinez, California...I small city right near San Fransisco to do a 8000 dollar crit hosted by the city of Martinez and Shell Oil Company.
This race had a awesome small town, superweek crit feel to it and I enjoyed it!!
We met out other two teammates Kevin and Adam aka the "cyclopedia"
Well anyways we had six guys and we went there to make as much money as possible. Early in the race I noticed that my seat felt really funny, it felt as if I was on a midget bike and there it was, my seat on my brand new bike had falling down to the bottom.
My upper hip hurt so bad from the peddling motion but I had to stick it out. Jeremiah raced super hard and before you know it, he was off the front just over half way through with a Strawberry Giant guy, Bmp, Bissell and someone else. Two laps later they had a 20 second gap that look to be promising.
A few laps later I had Kevin to take a hard pull and people were so tired I knew when he set up they would as well and I launched a super hard effort that took me to the break 1 lap later.
.....but boy, when I got that I was super gassed!!
Jeremiah and
Scott Zwizansk from Bissell pretty much attacked each other the whole break and left the rest of us wondering how do they do that. With one to go, Jeremiah made his winning move surprising the group half a lap out to take the win. I finished 3rd and Kevin ended up 13th.
I should have pics to follow this post...stay tuned.
ill be back for Redlands crit....got my hands full right now....
