Tour of Murrieta
This weekend California Pools hosted a fantastic race out in Murrieta which is near Tamecula, Ca. The temperatures I would say where near perfect. 80 degrees, 15-20 mph winds and fast racing.
I went into this weekend with a goal of just finishing without hurting my psoas muscles anymore. As I started to go for moves in the race, I noticed that the leg didn't hurt that bad so I pushed myself a little harder just to see how it would react and it was pretty good.
The whole day the team did a great job covering moves but at the most pivital part of the race we failed to do a lead-out for me and I finished 6th after not taking the anicative of getting the right position to win the race!
Sundays road race I figured I would just ride hard and get some good training out the race since I figured I couldn't win the overall anymore.
After a good team meeting and squaring some things out from the day before we got 4 guys in a split of about 20 guys with 30 mils to go. Also in the group was the leader of the race Johnathan Cantwell, Dominique Rolling and Tony Cruz.
Coming into the finish karl Bordine attacked on the final hill holding off the field to take the win just 4 seconds in front of me.
