From A Fan...

Its not often that I get an email from a complete stranger that satisfies me.  And that also makes me feel very grateful.

Thanks Fernando Rivera,

Check out this email

I know you must get allot of e-mail from folks, but this one is different.

I read your article in Road Magazine. They say in life things fall into place at certain times for a reason.

I'm a 53 yr old bike racer, (OR AT LEAST I'D LIKE TO THINK SO). I just started racing in 03, with every race a disaster.
BUT I WON'T GIVE UP.

While I am a member of Major Taylor Association, and once a week I wear his jersey. I have found my new and young inspiration. Not many people get inspired by someone younger, but I have. I live in Las Vegas, and there aren't many of us on bikes. And forget about racing. There may be 2, including myself.

I just wanted to tell you where my head is at. Keep doing what your doing so I can do the same.
I train here in LV, and also in LA/The OC.

Keep working and I will too.
Hope to see you at one of your races.

Regards,
Fernando Rivera

It's my pleasure, Rahsaan.
I watched you last night in Vegas. You where kinda of a blur, but, man, did you smoke those corners and even in the dark. I think they need better lighting if your going to have crit's like that.

Certain people make a difference without even knowing. While I don't know you personally, quality in cycling equals quality in life. Good Luck on your next race.
Thanks,
Fernando

Hey Rahsaan,
Can you give us you're view point on Landis.

When I race and train, I do both clean. Sports drink and bar/gels. I'm thinking we got some dirty folks in every level at the Cat 1- 5/Masters 50+ levels, but all I can do is stay clean and work my butt off.

But I don't know if Landis is one of them. As you probably know Armstrong never closed an 8 minute gap at the TDF.
Not that I'm comparing these 2 racers, but do you think there's something going on that we don't know.
And now Landis wants to appeal.

Am I crazy or is her trying to save face?

pssss....are you doing anymore races this year??

Thanks for your time,
Fernando
