Yesterday
Greetings my people,
Here is a quick update of what’s going on.
After the Joe Martin Stage Race that ended Sunday, Monday was an easy day on the bike, I road 1hr just to keep the blood circulating and on Tuesday Sterling and myself thought it would be a good idea to ride from Fayetteville to Russleville (where tripeaks stage race is) you know to get ready for Philly and to use these 10 days of racing as a huge block. Well, before we left Fayetteville I look outside and its a huge thunderstorm going on that also included some lighting. For about 5 minutes I knew for sure I wasn't going to go but the night before I had already made up my mind that I was going to go.
So...we hit the road at 11am for what should be a 5 1/2hr ride. The first 2hrs of the ride was so crazy, we pretty much road in the thunderstorm on these little two-lane roads and when the rain finally let up the grounds were soaking wet.
5 1/2 hrs later we are still riding in the rain...at 6 hrs we see a sign that says Russelville....but it was 30 miles away and the legs where starting to get tired and I think mentally I knew I was going to ride about 7hrs so I started to crack.
However I made it with just enough energy to walk up the stairs take and shower and drive 1 block to Ruby Tuesdays.
Today the legs felt tired so I cut the 2hr ride down to 1 1/2 and took it really easy.
I also set up my TT bike today so for stage three I wont feel like complete crap when I hop on it.
till next time, ride it till the wheels fall off.
