Roswell Crit

Historic Roswell Crit
Roswell, SC

The Roswell crit was the second stop of the series and I told myself all day long that I would win. The course is almost exactly one mile long with the back side having a gradual uphill and from the last turn is at least 5-600meters.

I started the race off riding DFL (dead fucking last) only because it was a long race and I didn’t warm up for it, so I road the back to get the legs going before I started to move and get involved in the race.

20 minutes in I made my move to the front and I felt great. The legs were responding to attacks and recovering very well.  Not sure what part of the race it was but a crash happen and the field split pretty bad. I did hit the ground but was not hurt at all from the fall. When the large group got to the pit, it was told to me that Karl Menzies from Health Net rolled a tire and that’s what caused the crash going into turn one.

So now I group of I think 12 or so are off the front and David Clinger (my teammate) is in the move and for us, we have to be happy because we where the only two in the race.
David got 11th in the finish because he sacrificed winning, for a $250 dollar cash prime that he didn’t even win and for me, well I got second in the field sprint. Not a good result, but it for sure helped my confidence and will help me be more successful in the future races here.
