BAHATI RACING
RIDE, DREAM, WIN

I know I know

July 28, 2008 16:47 by rahsaanbahati

....Sorry, I know its been sometime, however its just been very busy for me the last week or so with racing and my Best friends wedding.

I got back to Chicago on Sunday morning and drove down to Wisconsin and raced the last day hopping to help Sterling win the overall however it didnt happen.

But we had a good ride and Rudy raced his way to second place giving the team a podium in almost every stage.

Sterling finished 2nd in GC and I finished 2nd in the sprint points.  Chad won the sprint points by me leaving to the wedding. Its ok because I was pretty much untouchable in the sprints. i was hands down 30-40 watts better than any sprinter there.

Now on to another race. Enjoy these pics from the wedding.

Good Job Kenny...

Hey Bahati, did Ken faint this time?
He'll know what I mean.

Nothing like a little humility, eh Rahsaan. The JJ guys on the podium have nothing but gracious things to say about the Rock team, and all you can do is talk smack about how untouchable you are. You sure are on the right team.

have a nice day Antonio....and what did I say bad about the Chad or Cantwell?

If you have ever raced a bike and felt good and felt like no one can touch you...its a great feeling you only get every now and then and I'm proud to feel and say I was untouchable.

its to bad you woke up on the wrong side of the bed...

AND KEVIN KENNY WAS COOL...I WAS THE ONE FEELING FUNNY, BUT I HELD IT TOGETHER,

Actually talkin' smack is good for our sport. If Kobe, Lebron and the likes do it to push eachother, why cant we do it. I think in fact we need that aggression, and talkin; NOW the real men talk Sh#t face to face. You got the game back it up, or step down. I'm with RB on this one. You got game you can talk, until someone comes in your face to put you down!

Kevin,

When I was at the rehersal..... Thats the first thing that came out of my mouth " I hope this doesnt go down like Kev's wedding", but I was good.....I guess you can say I was "untouchable".

Rahsaan, There is no doubt you are a very talented racer and I genuinely enjoy watching you fly around these crit courses, but I'm merely commenting on the interesting contrast between your post-race summary and Chad/ Jonny's comments. They get up there and talk about how nice it was to have the guys from Rock animating the action (which you certainly did). However, your version boils down to "Chad won the sprint points by me leaving to the wedding", certainly not because he worked his ass off to grab points, whether you were in the race or not. Unfortunately, it often appears to outside observers that much of Rock Racing's persona trickles down from it's hollow, self-absorbed team owner.

Message to Antonio...

Nice try to bring down a positive brother like Rahsaan. You obviously don't know how good of a guy he really is.

At any rate, hopefully your day is better now that you failed to get a foul reaction out of someone with more class than yourself.

And food for thought...if you've never excelled at anything or have never been passionate about anything then it's quite easy to understand your lack of self-pride. Self assurance is a powerful motivator and i'll pray for you that someday you can muster enough self pride to say your good at something...especially if you ever make it to a pro level and dominate the competition.

Have a great day!

Jeff

I see you and Devon must of had a great time at the wedding. I wish it were me taking all those wins! See you in Downers Grove for Nationals.

Antonio - you forgot Rich ... very Rich! MB that is! And ... as far as your comments are concerned - why don't you go get genuinely drunk, and merely cry to your girlfriend or mother or something (are you old enough to drink?). Bike racing is not for the faint-at-heart or pussies! That's why i quit racing bikes, and give the people that do race, especially those that race Pro, some respect. Ya hear me!
Now go get a warm bottle and tuck yourself in!

Did you get a lot of backlash from the team for going to the wedding right in the middle of super week? Especially since they lost both jerseys? I was just curious and didn't mean any ill-will. I really think you guys have the coolest team in pro cycling right now. But it seems like your team is very hard on guys about winning, at least thats what the rumor mill would have us believe. Well keep up the good work bro and keep killing them in the sprints :-D

Mike Ball is very supportive of the decisions I make. The deal is that I told he team in January about the wedding so it was no biggie, plus Kenny ( god willing) will only be getting married once and I couldn't miss it for anything.

I wanted to stay and help the team as I knew those three days I missed would be important, but when its all said and done...its just bike racing....
